A Logee’s exclusive and one of our newest begonia hybrids, Begonia ‘Autumn Ember’ is a rare, brilliant orange-leaf begonia that’s taking the taking the “begonia world” by storm. ‘Autumn Ember’ is a Logee’s hybrid that is in the process of being patented and is now available worldwide! Its brilliant juvenile orange leaves emerge with a blast of color and with good light exposure the leaves maintain their coloring as they mature. Their compact nature keeps the growth habit tight and brings a unique color statement to the windowsill. Light pink flowers dance above the foliage in winter.

This rhizomatous begonia hybrid is a cross between Begonia ‘Marmaduke’ and Begonia ‘Angel Glow.’ Selected out of a group of seedlings, ‘Autumn Ember’ shows the brightest orange coloring, especially when they are newly emerging as juvenile leaves. When grown with other begonias, ‘Autumn Ember’ literally glows in comparison and when seen from afar, the mass of orange leaves catches the attention of all who gaze upon it. Begonias are some of the easiest plants to grow in containers in a home environment. Like all rhizomatous begonias, dry out between waterings and pinch the tips to create a full bushy form.

I've had my 'Autumn Embers' begonia for quite a while now, it has gotten established, and I'm happy to report that it is very well-behaved, hardy, and spouting lots of new growth. I ordered two, so as to fill up the pot quicker, and it looks gorgeous, amazing colors, a real show-stopper!
